His Gladiators' handle is Hurricane, and you can follow him on NBC (Channel 12), also home of Beijing Olympics coverage.Greer was 12th at the 2000 and '04 Olympics. He hopes to qualify for a third Olympics at the U.S. Track Trials, June 27-July 6 in Eugene, Ore. Greer has a long history of injuries including a torn ACL ligament in his left knee at the Athens Olympics in 2004. Still he was bronze medalist at the 2007 World Championships and couldn't resist an opportunity like American Gladiators. Greer told the Eugene Register-Guard: "I wasn’t put here to be a background character in somebody else’s movie. ... It (American Gladitors) is brutal, it’s a brutal thing, but I enjoy it. I’m a contact guy. You can sit there and cry about it and sit in your chair and go train and be finicky about it. This is just my life. I’m a survivor. If I get hurt, I don’t care, dude. It’s all good. Everything will work out. There are a lot of people who would sit there and be in my situation and worry about it, and they would probably regret something later on in life. But I’m not. You can dribble all your life, or you can shoot the ball, and I’m put here for great things. Like I said, I’m not a background character." Here is the entire Greer Q&A with the Register-Guard.
