| Camp Drudgery Fri, 01 Aug 2008 13:46:02 -0700 The dog days of training camp have set in. Legs are starting to get a little rubbery and minds are beginning to wander. And that's just me. I can't imagine how the players feel. It's a fine line for coaches. They want players to push through fatigue and soreness, because it's something they'll have to do during the season. But they don't want to be stupid about it and turn a strain into a pull. Coach Ken Whisenhunt is backing off some of his veterans, giving a handful the afternoon off today. Edgerrin James, Chike Okeafor, Bertrand Berry and Adrian Wilson will be among six or seven vets who take it easy this afternoon. The players will be off on Sunday, their first day off since reporting to camp on Aug. 23. I'm sure there will be a long line of vehicles headed down the mountain as soon as the workout ends at 1:30.
